Easter Angling Festival 2015

  • Welcome all to our 23rd Annual Pike festival.
  • Thanks to all of you, great to see all of you who have supported us over the years past and present.
  • Thank all our Sponsors – Fellow Fishing Clubs , Supports who help finance goods and equipment. 
  • Catering Team Ann, Jane, Jordan, Siobhan and Lisa. And a special mention to Gillian Cleary carrying on the tradition at the Tea / Coffee Team after her mum Doreen. 
  • Roscommon Co. Co. for Cleaning up the Doon Shore.
  • Stewards on Both days – Very Courteous and Helpful
  • Quad Squad – Boyle Innovation copied by other clubs.  
  • Fisheries Board Fergus Lynch & Team and hopefully they enjoyed their holiday on our beautiful islands

Juniors prizes of which there were a total of 9.


In Third place is Conor McGourty, No 243 with a fish weighing in at 7lb 4oz.         Conor gets €50.
 In Second place is Enda Hughes, No 234 with a fish weighing in at 10lb 2oz.  Enda gets €100.
 In First Place is Thomas McDermott, No 233 with a fish weighing in at 11lb 4oz.- Thomas gets €200.

Now for the Ladies event, total of 3 entrants.

 In First Place with a piece of Crystal sponsored by Moonstone Jewellers and a cheque for €150, with a fish weighing 3lb 4oz, number 17, Fidelma Fallon.

POOL PRIZE

 Pool Prize of €200, winner with a fish weighing 14lb 4oz is No 21 Tony Doolan.

  1. First Fish Weighed at Black Island on the Saturday – No. 493 Darren Mullaney with a fish of 3lbs 4oz
  2. Fish weighed closest to 3PM at Doon Shore on Saturday – Number 231 Conor Whelan, with a fish weighing 1lb 8oz
  3. Smallest Fish Weighed at Bullock Island on Saturday – No 63 Cathal Beirne with a fish weighing 1lb even

Now, 9 names from those who caught nothing over the weekend, and they could also spin the wheel.

The €125 Winner is No 3 Peter Conroy with a fish weighing 11lb 8oz

The €250 Winner is No 47 Pat Healy with a fish weighing 12lb 2oz

And the €500 winner for Saturday is No 23 Noel McGuire with a fish weighing 12lb 8oz


SUNDAY PRIZES


The 3 winners of €100 apiece are as follows
No 24 Michael Bannon with a fish weighing 9lb 4oz
No 2 Klaus Sinnhoffer with a fish weighing 10lb 13oz
No 35 Paul Maree with a fish weighing 11lb 1oz

The €125 Winner is No 40, Barry Darby with a fish weighing 13lb even.

And for Sunday there were 2 fishermen with 14lb fish, No 5 Declan Conroy and No 61, Rory Hughes, who both receive €375 each.

 OVERALL WINNER


And in first place with a cheque for €2,500 and The Moonstone Jewellers Perpetual Trophy and The Winners Jacket is, with a fish weighing 14lb 4oz weighed at Bullock Island on Saturday is number No 21 Tony Doolan.
